This tool converts RGB color values to XYZ color space for accurate color representation in digital media.
RGB to XYZ Color Space Calculator
Enter red, green, and blue values (0-255) in the input fields and click “Calculate” to convert the RGB color to the XYZ color space. The result will be displayed in the format X:xx, Y:xx, Z:xx.
How to Use
- Enter values for R, G, and B ranging from 0 to 255.
- Click the “Calculate” button.
- View the result in the “Result” field.
How It Works
The RGB values are first normalized to the range [0, 1]. Then, the function applies the sRGB companding transformation to linearize the RGB values. These linear RGB values are then multiplied by the linear RGB to XYZ transformation matrix to convert them into the CIE 1931 XYZ color space.
Limitations
This calculator assumes the input RGB values are in the sRGB color space. The XYZ values are scaled to the usual range of [0, 100]. This script does not account for different white points or color profiles other than sRGB.
